Deborah A. Dixon

Deborah A. Dixon, 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on October 25, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Worrall and the devoted wife of Michael R. Dixon, whom she married in 1987.

Debbie graduated from Great Valley High School in Malvern, Pennsylvania, in 1972 and from Juniata College in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She held a variety of professional positions early in her career, including work that gave her the opportunity to travel throughout the country. Her most important and rewarding role, however, was raising her two sons and creating a home and life for her family.

Over the years, Debbie and her family made their homes in Malvern, Charlestown Township, Strasburg and York, Pennsylvania, and Sanibel Island, Florida. She and Mike also enjoyed a vacation home in Bar Harbor, Maine, another special place where they spent many memorable times together.

Friendship was an important part of Debbie’s life. She remained especially close with her Juniata College housemates, friendships that endured for more than 50 years. They made a point of staying connected through regular gatherings, conference calls and, more recently, Zoom meetings.

Debbie was an accomplished and avid tennis player in her early years, and her love of the sport remained with her throughout her life. She also loved to travel, especially with Mike, and Florida held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed crafts, decorating, antiquing and finding old things she could bring back to life.

Her love of Sanibel was reflected in her passion for seashells—both their natural history and their artistic beauty—and in creating beautiful wreaths featuring shells native to the island. She also volunteered with the Annual Sanibel Shell Fair, Show and Festival and its artistic and scientific shell competitions.

Above all, Debbie’s life centered on the people she loved. She was proud of her family and especially treasured being a grandmother. Debbie was also especially close to Mike’s family, including Kathy and Greg, Nancy and Ben, and twin grandnieces Jillian and Cassandra, who held a special place in her life.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Michael Dixon; her sons, Eric (LiErin) Dixon and Scott Dixon; her grandchildren, Leo, Elias & Ivy Dixon; her siblings, Susan (David) Anderson and Robert Worrall; and her beloved dog, Chiclet.
