David Vazquez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Vazquez, who was born on September 2, 1955, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 70.

David was a lifelong resident of Lancaster. He had a larger-than-life personality and was known for his playful spirit, warm smile, and generous heart. He took pride in his style and dapper appearance, always presenting himself with class and confidence.

David loved music and dancing and could often be found enjoying time with family and friends. He treasured the simple joys of life—sharing stories, making people laugh, and being surrounded by those he loved. More than anything, David loved his family with all his heart. His greatest pride was being a father and grandfather, and the love he poured into them will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

All who knew David would often speak with admiration about the beautiful bond he shared with his only daughter, whom he raised with unwavering love, devotion, and sacrifice. That relationship was one of his proudest and most meaningful accomplishments, and it will forever be remembered by those who witnessed it.

David will be remembered for his charm, humor, and magnetic presence that could light up any room. He truly lived life with joy and energy, always dancing through life in his own way. Above all, his family will remember him for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created and the love he gave will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Jose Vazquez and Mariana Mendez; brother Jose L. Vazquez; nephews, Israel Cartagena and Edwin Morales; and a niece, Mariana Morales.

David is survived by his son, David Vazquez Jordan, and his daughter, Enid “Evy” Godwin-Vazquez, wife of Koa Godwin, of Lancaster; twelve grandchildren, Waynai, Daeshawn, Nycere, Nyshawn, David, D’Azhaney, Layla, Layoni, Mia, Ava, Kai, and Lenni; and one great-grandson, Amiri. He is also survived by his siblings, Emily Rodriguez, Maritza Manzanares, Jose A. Vazquez, Kevin Dennison, Trevor Dennison, and Ana Vazquez, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

In David’s words: “Keep it one hundred—over and out.”

Joshua 1:9 (NIV):

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
