David P. Lichard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Lichard on Monday, May 18, 2026.

David spent his professional life as a respected and accomplished leader, serving as CEO of General Foam and later Foamex. His dedication and leadership defined his career, and he retired in 2013. Following retirement, he and his wife, Frances, enjoyed their time between Lititz, Pennsylvania, and Vero Beach, Florida.

David proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Army Reserve, a role he carried with honor throughout his life.

He was a vibrant and active individual who brought energy and joy to those around him. An avid pickleball player and passionate teacher of the game, David loved sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time outdoors.

Above all, David was a devoted dog lover and found great happiness in the companionship of his pets. He treasured every moment spent with friends and family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and warmth.

David is survived by his wife, Frances Lichard; his daughter, LeeAnn Matchick; and his granddaughter, Paige Matchick, along with other family members and friends.

A private family ceremony will be held.

David will be dearly missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, leadership, and love of life.
