David R. Kenney

David R. Kenney, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away suddenly on September 13, 2025. He was the son of the late Fred and Eveyln (MacCourt) Kenney

David grew up in Reading, MA, before beginning a career in banking and financial services. A graduate of Franklin & Marshall College in 1974, he also completed the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Trust School.

He began his banking career with National Central Bank, entering the management training program in 1974. Throughout his career earned positions as Employee Benefits Administrator in 1975 and Trust Investment Administrator in 1977. In 1980, he became Vice President of the Employee Benefits Division at Hamilton Bank.

Following his time at Hamilton Bank, David continued his career with Bank of New York Mellon, serving in locations throughout Virginia, Florida, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania.

In October 1983, David married Clara A. (Glouner) Kenney, beginning a loving partnership that lasted for decades.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, David enjoyed golfing, horse racing, and relaxing at the beach. He appreciated time spent with family and friends and was known for his intelligence, dedication, and quiet strength.

David is survived by his sister, Joanne McClendon wife of Craig, (deceased), and his two nieces.

A Funeral Mass celebrating the lives of Clara and David Kenney will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
