David G. Glassic, 89, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Hospice & Community Care of Mount Joy.
Born in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Ellen (Hopta) Glassic. He was the loving husband of Maria (Diminick) Glassic. They just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on October 14, 2026.
David worked in data entry for Lancaster County and was a longtime member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, going out to eat, and exercising at the gym. He also loved to dance and was known for his signature “windshield wiper” dance. David was always ready to have a good time and make those around him laugh. He was thrilled when the Eagles won the NFL Championship and often cheered “Fly Eagles, Fly.” Above all, he especially cherished the time he spent with his family, who meant so much to him.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; his children, Daniel (Michele) Glassic and Michelle (Jeff) Sosnoski; his grandchildren, Hayley, Kaitlin, Stuart, Nicholas, and Austin; his step grandchildren, Mason and Devan; his great grandchildren, Emilia and Baylor; his siblings, Patricia Loreman and John (Kitty Ann) Glassic; nieces and nephews and other loving extended family.
Family and friends will be received for a time of visitation from 10AM to 11AM on Friday, November 6, 2026, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in David’s name to Hospice & Community Care at: hospiceandcommunitycare.org or to the Sarcoma Foundation of America at: curesarcoma.org.
