David Daniel Forry Jr.

David D. Forry, Jr. (Dave), 87, of Lititz, passed away in the hospital on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, after a brief illness.

He was born in Schaefferstown, PA on November 4, 1938. He was the son of the late David D. Forry, Sr. and Helen B. Forry. He was the husband of Rhoda E. Forry, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage together.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter: Dave Forry (Deb) Palm Bay, FL; Jeff Forry (Sherri) Lancaster, PA; and Angie Dinkla (Steve) Lisle, IL. 5 Grandchildren: Brant Forry Lancaster, PA; Kaitlyn Haggerty (Luke) Jupiter, FL; Jenna Forry Tampa, FL; Lauren Dinkla Boston, MA; and Cameron Dinkla Lisle, IL. 3 great grandchildren: Reese, Clay, and Tessa Haggerty Jupiter, FL.

Dave was a mechanic, a service station owner, and a business owner within the Lititz community. His skills in these areas came in handy with his life-long passion for racing. He participated in drag strip racing for many years, was part of an ARCA pit crew team, and followed the NASCAR circuit regularly.

He was the first person to go over 100 mph at Old Lancaster Dragstrip. He raced several different drag cars over his years involved in the sport - most notably a Ford Mustang Fastback Hardtop and a Ford Roadster to name a few. He has many accolades, trophies, and articles residing in various drag racing museums.

In addition to racing, he enjoyed boating/water-skiing/family time at his summer cottage on the Bush River in MD and annual vacation trips to his favorite shore destination (Ocean City, MD).

In respect of his wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services.
