D. Robert "Bob" Purcell, 94, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. Born in Primrose, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Marion (Brady) Purcell. He was married to Ann (Collihan) Purcell until her passing in 1988.
Bob was a graduate of Cass Township High School and took courses at Penn State University. He served honorably during the Korean war in the US Army and earned multiple medals for his service. He worked in sales for RCA, Hamilton Watch, ISSPRO, and Datcon Instrument Co., and after his retirement at Manheim Auto Auction. Bob was a member of the Columbia Elks, Mount Joy American Legion, Millersville VFW, and was a 3rd degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, and cherished the time he spent living in Whispering Pines. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob's children wish to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Anne's Retirement Community and Masonic Village Hospice who provided exceptional care and compassion to their dad.
