Clinton Wilson Amspacher Jr

Clinton Wilson Amspacher, Jr., affectionately known as "Mr. Blue," passed away peacefully at his home on July 6, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on November 21, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Clinton lived a life defined by love for his family, service to his community, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

A devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Clinton treasured the time he spent with those he loved. He graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg High School and dedicated many years of his career to management at Donegal Industries in Mount Joy before retiring. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and caring heart.

Known to many as "Mr. Blue," Clinton was an avid sports fan and was well respected both on and off the field. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. He dedicated countless hours to serving his community as a baseball and softball umpire and a basketball coach and referee, earning the admiration and respect of athletes, coaches, and spectators alike. He deeply believed in fairness, integrity, and sportsmanship and found great joy in giving back through the games he loved. His influence extended far beyond the final whistle or last out, leaving a lasting impression on generations of young athletes and fellow officials.

When he wasn't on the field, Clinton found peace in the outdoors. An avid hunter, he looked forward to spending time at his hunting cabin in Bradford County, where he enjoyed the beauty of nature, the camaraderie of family and friends, and the traditions that created some of his most treasured memories.

Above all else, Clinton was a family man. He believed in hard work, providing for his family, and leading by example. His guidance, quiet strength, and unwavering support made him an incredible role model, not only to his children but also to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for his family and the values he instilled will continue to shape future generations, ensuring that his legacy lives on in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved him.

Clinton is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Louise Amspacher (Winters), with whom he celebrated 28 years of marriage on July 3; his sons, Clinton W Amspacher III (Sherry) and Dale P Amspacher (Amy); his stepson, Robert H Turner III (Jessica); his stepdaughter, Amy Turner Collier (Ricky); his sisters, Betty Jo Neff (Ken), Matilda "Tillie" King, Shirley Sellers (Jeff); his brother, Steven Amspacher (Debbie); his grandchildren, Troy Amspacher (Bailey), Nate Amspacher (Nicole), Emily Krebs (Nick), Ann Amspacher, Drake Amspacher, Kael Collier, Sophia Collier, Grace Collier, and Vada Turner; his great-grandchildren, Landon Amspacher, Macy Amspacher, Elijah Amspacher, Lilah Krebs, Jackson Krebs, Della Amspacher, and Josie Amspacher; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton Wilson Amspacher, Sr. and Ethel Virginia Amspacher (née David); his sisters, Ethel Harper, Helena Roberts, and Jeanette Miller; and his grandson, Andrew Amspacher.

Clinton will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his commitment to his community, and the kindness and respect he showed to everyone whose life he touched. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the countless lives he influenced as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, official, and friend.
