Christine S. Castellano

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christine S. Castellano, affectionately known as Chris, who departed this world on June 19, 2026, at the age of 86, at Keystone Villas in Ephrata, PA.

Chris was born on May 21, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated with a degree in Medical Technology from Lycoming College, a field she passionately worked in for many years. After retiring, she began volunteering to care for seniors and worked in a thrift store in Lititz, where she served her community and made friends with the store's other volunteers.

Beyond her professional and volunteer pursuits, Chris was a lover of all creatures great and small, particularly her canine companions. Throughout her life, she raised numerous dogs, each one finding a special place in her heart. Her most recent and adored companion, Tedie, a Morkie, was often seen by her side as she shared many walks, cuddles, and play times with him. She was a proud Morkie owner and loved to share about Tedie everywhere that she went.

Chris was an avid gardener who found solace and joy in the beauty of the outdoors. She enjoyed nurturing her garden and took pleasure in observing the little critters that visited.

Chris is survived by her dog Tedie, daughter Christine Stone and husband Dan, grandson Chandler, sister Judy Terrio, her dear friends Kim Craven and daughter Katie, and Barbara and Bob Aronson. Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Mondo Castellano, and her dear son, Douglas Schroeder, whose memories she held closely and spoke of fondly.

A graveside service will be held on June 30, 2026, at 2:30 pm in Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, PA. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris's memory to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), an organization close to her heart, ensuring that her legacy of compassion and care for animals continues.
