Jim Hepler, of Mountville, PA passed away peacefully at home on March 23 after a courageous battle with ALS, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Wolfgang) Hepler, and devoted father of Ryan and Andrew Hepler.
Born on May 7, 1967, in Plattsburgh, NY, Jim grew up in Williamsport and Lancaster, PA. He was a proud graduate of Manheim Township High School, Class of 1985. He attended Millersville University, and developed his career with several Lancaster businesses, spending the last 15 years as QC Master Data Specialist at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals in Marietta.
A passionate athlete as a youth and a young adult, Jim was an avid soccer player, cyclist and hockey player. He was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Liverpool Football Club, watching their games until his final days. However, his greatest pride came from the sidelines while watching his two boys excel on the soccer field as he cheered their accomplishments.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and large, loving family. He took pleasure in holidays, parties, and trips to the Outer Banks and Sandbridge, Virginia as these were some of his favorite times spent with family and friends. His love of family and his quiet sense of humor will be remembered by everyone he knew.
Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Angela, sons Ryan and Andrew, and daughter-in-law Madison; his parents N. Anthony and Charlene Mastropietro of Lancaster, and his stepfather David Rothfuss (Joey) of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by his siblings Tina Tufarolo (Kevin) of Mount Joy, Jennifer Cavanaugh (Joseph) of Wayne, Ty Rothfuss of Columbia, SC, Alyssa Roda (Dan) of Lancaster and Monica Peck (Dane) of Landisville; and his step-siblings Greg Mastropietro and Tim Mastropietro, both of Albuquerque, NM, John Mastropietro of Lancaster, and Anne Gaffney of Sarasota, Fl.
He will be fondly remembered as "Uncle Jim" to his many nieces and nephews: Alex Tufarolo, Nick Tufarolo, and Maggie Lazowski, Daniel and Holden Cavanaugh, Silas and Willow Roda, and Lexi Peck, as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Charles James Hepler, Sr.
Services to honor Jim's life will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with Visitation at 6PM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7PM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The ALS Association and Hospice for All Seasons, Grantville, PA.
