Charles M. Hale, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday May 26, 2026. Born on June 28, 1947, in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late Harry P. Hale, Sr. and Sarah Allen.
Charles Graduated in 1966 and attended Thompson College. He then proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Charles worked for many years at Bergeys Truck Center in Ephrata as a parts counter specialist before retiring after 10 years of service
A devoted Christian, Charles was a faithful member of Mt. Hope United Christian Church for 2 years, where he also taught Sunday School. He loved camping, hunting, cooking, especially breakfast, and spending time with his family. He was great with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He also was a history buff and had a large collection of cast iron skillets.
Charles is survived by his children: Jesse Clayton Kooker, husband of Lisa; Jennifer Hope Edwards, wife of Curtis; and Justin Cole Hale, husband of Michelle; his grandchildren; Benjamin, William, Justin, Amber, Curtis, Marshell, Ryan, McKayla, Corbin, Mary Beth, Catherine, Daniel, Anniah and Grace. He is also survived by his partner, Ann Hilton; siblings Edna Loches, Sam Clark, Mike Hale, John McKay, Thelma Allen, Mary Moss, Joe Allen, Casey Allen, and Ruthie Allen; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Allen.
Services will be held at the convenience of family.
