Charles W. "Butch" Balmer

Charles W. "Butch" Balmer, 85, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2026. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Gertrude (Stoe) Balmer. He was married 52 cherished years to Brenda (Hatfield) Balmer.

Butch was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He served 20 years honorably, retiring with 4 Good Conduct Medals. After his military service, Butch worked for 20 years with Alumax Mill Products (Arconic) and retired in security. He was a life member of the VFW in Lancaster.

In addition to his wife Brenda, Butch is survived by 3 children: Barbara Bonilla (Mark), Anissa Weiler (Frederick), and Brandon Balmer (Michele); 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and his sister Barbara Fulmer. He was predeceased by his parents, children Charles W. and Lisa Marie Balmer, and sisters Patricia Moros and Joanne Burkhardt.

The family will receive guests from 6-8 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Rd, Lancaster, PA 17603.
