Cecilia Cruz Morales

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cecilia Cruz Morales, a devoted mother, daughter, and a remarkable individual. Born on November 22, 1973, in Oaxaca, Mexico, Cecilia left this world on August 13, 2026, at the age of 53, due to natural causes. She resided in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she touched the lives of many through her unwavering work ethic and warm spirit. 

Cecilia's journey in this country began with determination and resilience. Despite her limited formal education, she tirelessly worked in various capacities throughout her life, including cleaning, food packing, and laboring in the fields. Her dedication was evident across numerous culinary endeavors in restaurants, where she not only provided for her family but also laid a foundation for a brighter future. 

A lover of nature, Cecilia found joy in cultivating her garden, nurturing a vibrant array of flowers and vegetables. Gardening became one of her most cherished pastimes, reflecting her nurturing spirit. Cecilia was equally passionate about cooking, often experimenting with new recipes while holding dear the traditional dishes she learned from her mother. Her home was always a warm and welcoming place, with a plate of food ready for any guest who entered. 

Cecilia also had a talent for embroidery and took immense pride in maintaining a clean and inviting home. Her modesty was complemented by her keen sense of self-care; she believed in presenting herself with dignity and grace. 

She is survived by her loving family including her children: Maria Becerra Cruz, Anahi Santiago Cruz, Christian Gonzalez Cruz, Christopher Gonzalez Cruz; grandchildren: Jackelyn Orellana Cruz, Diego Orellana Cruz and Jesse Gonzalez Alcazar, and siblings, Juan Carlos, Jose, Gertrudis, Mateo, Mauro, and Vicente.

A public viewing will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. in Lancaster on August 19, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and again on August 20, 2026, at 9:30 AM. Following the viewing, a funeral service will take place on August 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at the same location. Cecilia will be laid to rest at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. 

In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew Cecilia to join us in honoring her memory and celebrating her life—a life filled with love, hard work, and the beauty of simplicity. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and served.
