Carol E. King

Carol E. King, 79, of Landisville, went home on April 29, 2026. She leaves behind many loved ones with wounded hearts, but has joined her parents, grandparents, brother, aunts, uncles, and friends in eternal, peaceful rest. Born on July 16, 1946, in Lancaster to the late Donald and Rose Marie Laukhuff, Carol was a true gem whose enormous heart touched everyone she met.

Her life was dedicated to caring for her children and grandchildren with love and laughter, planting flowers, cooking incredible meals, and keeping the home running with grace and devotion. A cherished home cook, she was known for her delicious beef stew, hearty potato soup, delightful potato salad, and the unforgettable “Black Joe Coffee Cake” that brought family and friends together. Her home was often filled with the comforting aromas of her cooking, where family gatherings centered around her amazing culinary creations.

Beyond the kitchen, Carol was an artist. She enjoyed painting and drawing, and she was always surrounded by her vibrant flowers. Hummingbirds would flock to her garden, bringing her the same joy that she brought to her loved ones. Known for her creativity, she was also a dedicated seamstress, crafting thoughtful items for her family.

Carol enjoyed her quiet moments solving word search puzzles, and her warmth and thoughtfulness were evident in the many deeds she did for friends and family, keeping everyone connected and cherished. When her grandbabies arrived, Carol experienced a new revival. With experience and her love for babies, she treated her grandchildren as her own. She dedicated herself to attending every sporting event, dance recital, and any other activity her grandkids were involved with. She never forgot sending birthday cards or holiday cards, and always spoiled her grandchildren with gifts. She lived a selfless life, up until its very end.

Her love and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of her husband of over 58 years, Timothy E. King Sr. of Landisville, their children, Timothy E. King, Jr. of E. Petersburg, Robert D. King, husband of Kimberly of New Holland, and Tamara King of Landisville; grandchildren, Timothy R. King, Brandon C. King, Elizabeth M. King, Alexandria J. King, Cole R. King, Sydni J. King, Cameron King, and Jazleen J. King, as well as siblings, Donna Thourot, Gerald Laukhuff, and Lisa Poplar. She was preceded in passing by her parents and her brother, Roderick Laukhuff.
