Carl Maloney

Carl Maloney, 89, of State College, PA, formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2026. He was the son of the late L. Earl Maglione and Philomena R. (DiVito) Maglione. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce M. Maloney.

Carl graduated from Cortland High School and then enlisted in the Army and worked as a special machinist for three years with an honorable discharge. He worked for over 18 years at Brockway Motor Company in Cortland, NY. He also worked for J. Thomas Ltd. and Susquehanna Association for the Blind and Vision Impaired both in Lancaster, PA. He was also a former member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church where he volunteered as an usher and volunteered in the public library in Woodbine, MD.

Carl enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing bingo, and Yahtzee, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved attending their sporting events, dance recitals, and other activities.

Carl is survived by his four children: Karen A. Banas (Robert) of State College, PA, Christine R. Weikle (Delton) of Sinks Grove, WV, David M. Maloney (Michele) of Las Vegas, NV, Dennis J. Maloney of Ephrata, PA, and eight beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Grace M. Fox, of Rochester, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
