Bun Roeung Kong

Bun Roeung Kong, born December 1, 1952, in Kompong Chhnang, Cambodia, passed away peacefully on September 10th at Lancaster General Hospital.

Bun Roeung was the beloved husband of Sokkhim Kong and a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Sokkhim; his three children, Elisabeth, Kiry, and Neseth Kong; and his beloved grandchild, Athren Kong.

Bun Roeung’s life was marked by courage, perseverance, and an unwavering love for his family. As a young man, he proudly served in the Cambodian Navy. During the Khmer Rouge takeover, he escaped the country during the U.S. withdrawal from Cambodia, beginning a new chapter in his life and ultimately building a future for his family.

After establishing his life in the United States, Bun Roeung worked at Tyson, then LASA as a Waste Management Technician, where he remained dedicated to his work until his retirement.

One of Bun Roeung’s greatest passions was flying. He loved airplanes, and becoming a pilot was always a dream close to his heart. His fascination with flying reflected the adventurous spirit that carried him through so much of his life.

Above all, Bun Roeung was a caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He treasured his family and touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, strength, and loving presence will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Bun Roeung will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to attend Buddhist Services at the home of Chentha Pork, 694 N. Field Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603 from 7AM to 12PM, Saturday, September 19, 2026. Cremation Services will follow at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584 from 1:30PM to 2:30PM.
