Beverly Ann Hess, age 85, of Lancaster, passed away on February 26, 2026. Born in York, Beverly was the daughter of the late Clarence and Thelma (Heeter) Mumford and the wife of the late Lawrence "Larry" J. Hess.
Beverly was the Associate Director of the Lancaster Franchise of Fashion Two-Twenty Cosmetics. Her career progressed as she became a trailblazer in the world of media, serving as the first female account executive for WGAL, where her passion and talent flourished. In addition to her professional achievements, Beverly was actively involved in various community organizations. She was a proud Charter member of the La Sertoma Club of Lancaster and the Women's Optimist Club, where she devoted her time to uplifting and supporting women in the community.
A devoted member of St. Edward's Episcopal Church, Beverly embraced her faith wholeheartedly. Her roles as Chair of the Altar Guild and Chair of the Memorial Garden ministry, showcased her unwavering commitment to the church community.
Beverly is survived by her children: Christina M. Eichelberger (wife of Paul) of Landisville and Gregory S. Oleksa (husband of Pamela) of Lancaster, seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister: Linda Harman (wife of Paul) of Arizona; four stepchildren and four step grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly is preceded in death by her son, Scott Michael Oleksa and brother, Ronald Mumford.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Edward's Episcopal Church, 2453 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, from 10AM to 11AM with a service to begin at 11AM. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, www.schreiberpediatric.org or St. Edward's Episcopal Church.
