Beverly A Beddingfield 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. Beverly was born on March 30, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, was the widow of Grady Max Beddingfield and the daughter of the late Claude F. and Mary L. Yauman. Beverly is survived by her step daughter, Michelle (William) Byrd of San Antonio, Texas, a granddaughter, Amanda Byrd of San Antonio, and brother-in-law Alan (Crystal) Beddingfield of Walland, Tennessee.
Bev is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, Judith (Bob) Lamson, Ted Hacker, Beth Yauman, Roger (Kim) Yauman, Claudia (Larry) Perry, James (Debra) Mahoney, and David Hacker, along with a couple dozen great nieces and nephews. Being closer in age to her nieces and nephews than her siblings, she kept a very close relationship with all of them over the years and they cherished time spent with her. Beverly was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Harold Yauman, three sisters, Ruth Mahoney, Grace Hacker, and Dorothy Yauman, and three nieces, Esther Watt, Carol Beatty, and Rebecca Henry.
Beverly spent her early years in Struthers, Ohio, graduating from Struthers High. Bev loved horses and spent countless hours at the Zedaker riding stables in Poland, Ohio. Bev moved to the Naples, Florida area with her mother in 1968 where she met and married Grady. She worked as a cafeteria manager in the Collier County school district for many years. Upon their retirement in 2003, Bev and Grady relocated to Morristown, TN, where they lived together until Grady’s passing in August 2023, two months before their 50th wedding anniversary. Bev volunteered frequently at a Morristown hospital and was an active member of First Christian Church. After Grady passed, Bev relocated to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to be close to family.
Bev will be cremated then buried alongside Grady and near her parents at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio, later this summer. A corresponding celebration of life will be held at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making an in memoriam donation to the animal shelter or rescue in your local community.
