Barbara J. Rylee

Barbara J. Rylee, 89, of Millersville, passed away on April 13, 2026. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late William and Nina (Witmer) Weston. She was also the loving wife to Morris “Sonny” Rylee for over 65 years until his passing in 2020.

Barb and her husband Sonny first met as children, living on the same block in Millersville, but their relationship truly blossomed during their time at Penn Manor High School. It was there you could find Barb on the sidelines of Sonny’s basketball games, cheering his team to victory. After her graduation, she worked at Watt and Shand department store, then later assisted with the family-owned Rylee Drive-In Restaurant. Following the sale of the drive-in, Barb worked in the Manheim Township School District as a custodian and bus driver. Outside of work, you could find her doting on her granddaughter, spending time with Sonny in their cabin in Potter County, or riding motorcycles (especially if it was a trip out West).

Barb is survived by her children, Deb (James) Haugen and Craig (fiancée Connie) Rylee; granddaughter Mindy Phillips; and her close high-school friends Jean Moore and Carol Guazzo.
