Barbara Ann Munro met with her Savior on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at her West Lampeter Township residence at the age of 90. She shared 66 years of marriage with her husband Ronald W. Munro before his passing in 2023.
Born in Lancaster, PA, Barbara was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Rebecca Augusta (Blish) Turner. She graduated from Bel Air High School, Bel Air, MD, attended Iowa State University and completed her studies at Goldey-Beacom College.
Barbara moved to Lancaster to work as a secretary at Armstrong World Industries where she met and then married Ronald and became a full-time homemaker for her family. She was an accomplished seamstress, making wedding gowns, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, and ring bearer suits for family weddings, as well as great Halloween costumes.
She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, as a Sunday school teacher, an usher, and helped to count the offering. She enjoyed collecting and sharing Nativities.
Barbara was active in the community, volunteering and participating at the West Lampeter Community Fair for decades. She also enjoyed her workout time with friends at CPRS in Willow Street.
Barbara’s family includes her sons, Robert M. Munro (Anne Marie) of Columbia, and Ronald M. Munro (Melanie) of New Providence, her daughter Allyson M. Brian (Dale) of Lancaster; ten grandchildren, Joshua Brian, Jeremy Brian (Angela), Andrew Munro (Sierra), Jacob Brian, Neil Munro, Eric Munro, Evan Munro, Rebecca Brian, Kyle Munro, and Alec Munro; and three great-grandchildren, Coen Munro, Max Brian, and Keller Munro.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Turner-Mohler, Joan Krogh, Roberta Immel, and Edwin Turner.
A viewing will take place 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am with The Rev. Dan Snyder officiating, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Shirk Hall at First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Please enter the church from N. Cherry Street (West side of the building). Parking is available in the East King Street Garage, Duke Street Garage or Prince Street Garage.
Private interment will be in Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
