Barbara Jane McCreary

Barbara J. McCreary, 91, of Lititz, passed away on Monday, August 24 at the Magnolias of Lancaster. She was the beloved wife of the late James L. McCreary, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage before his death in 2018.

Born in Altoona, PA in 1935, she was a daughter of the late Richard H. & Margaret J. (McGuire) Keech.

Barbara attended Altoona High School and graduated in the class of 1954. It was there she met James, her high school sweetheart, and they began their life together.

She was employed most recently as a receptionist for Moravian Manor, before her retirement in 1995. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a polling place volunteer for elections.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda A. McCreary DenBraven; her son, Patrick J. McCreary (Carina); her grandchildren, Michael Lentine; Carolyn Wrobleski; Scott Crawford; her great grandson, Tyler Wrobleski; and her brother, Ray Keech (Lorraine). She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Keech.

At Barbara's request, funeral services will be held privately with burial taking place in the family plot in Altoona.
