Audice Blair “Abe” Rodkey

Rev. Audice Blair "Abe" Rodkey, 85, of Willow Street, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Born in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Audice L. and Esther V. (Logan) Rodkey. He was the loving husband of Judith "Karen" (Stafford) Rodkey, with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Abe attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College and then went to Philadelphia College of the Bible where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1966. He went on to eventually earn a master's degree through Moody Bible Institute in 1993.

Abe was a member of Millersville Bible Church. A pastor for 42 years, Abe ministered in churches in South Jersey, Chester, Parksburg, Havertown, and Claymont, DE. After retiring, he continued to serve as an interim pastor in three churches. From 1979 to 1985 he taught Bible at The Christian Academy of Chester. He also taught evening classes for Philadelphia College of the Bible and Lancaster Bible College. Abe served on the boards of the Pregnancy Center in Delaware and Mifflin Counties. He also served on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship in Delaware County.

Always very athletic, Abe played quarterback for the 1957 and 1958 Western Conference Championship football team, the Lewistown High School Panthers. He also enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, and baseball. Abe and Karen enjoyed spending time traveling, taking trips to Africa, Europe, Canada, and throughout the United States. Abe was skilled in woodworking, making many pieces of furniture for his family.

In addition to his wife, Karen, Abe is survived by his children: Audice "Rocky" Rodkey II, of Lancaster, Tim Rodkey, of Lancaster, and Kristine Mitchell, wife of Jamie, of West Lafayette, IN; he is also survived by four grandchildren: Drew, Tyler, husband of Kim, and Tucker Rodkey, husband of Lize, and Alex Mitchell, husband of Shannon; six great-grandchildren: Abijah, Charlotte, Beau, Ada, Gracie, and Brooke; brother, James Rodkey, of York; sisters and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Abe was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Alan Rodkey.

Family and friends will be received for visitation from 10AM to 11AM, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Millersville Bible Church, 1940 New Danville Pike, Lancaster, PA. Memorial Services for Abe will follow at the church at 11AM. Interment will be private at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, PA.
