Alfred S. Znaniecki

Alfred S. “Al” Znaniecki, 95, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026. Born in Nanticoke, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley and Celia (Gabinski) Znaniecki. He was married almost 70 years to his beloved wife Dolores H. (Jones) Znaniecki until her passing in 2019.

Al was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science from Penn State University. He worked for Penn Dairies in the milk department and later at Jones Pontiac in sales. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and served honorably during the Korean Conflict. Al enjoyed watching sports, especially football and women’s basketball. He often watched the news and liked keeping up with world affairs. Al was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus for over 70 years. Most of all, Al cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Al is survived by 2 daughters: Karen Sites (Mark) and Susan Znaniecki; 3 grandchildren: Derek Schnader (Julie), Marc Schnader (Vanessa), and Jennifer Madonna (Steven); and 3 great-grandchildren: Sofia Madonna, Luke Madonna, and Victoria Schnader. He was predeceased by his sister Bernadine.
