Winifred Grace Gordon Green, 86

Winifred Grace Gordon Green of Lititz, PA went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2014.
Winifred was born in Washington D.C. on September 6, 1928. Her parents were Cecil Hector Gordon and Grace Seybolt Gordon Huff. Winifred graduated from Garfield Hospital in Washington D.C. as a Registered Nurse and Providence Bible Institute in Providence RI. She married Dallas S. Green on December 28, 1948 and enjoyed 50 years of marriage before he preceded her to heaven on September 22, 1998. They had 6 children: Carolyn, married to Tom Fink; Ken, married to Shirley Green; Kay, married to Jerome Iverson; Carl, married to Patsy Green; Larry, married to Beth Green; and Karen Lynn (deceased).
Winifred served faithfully as a wife, mother, missionary nurse in the Sudan, gracious hostess, musician and music arranger for her traveling musical family. However, her greatest passion was teaching the Bible and her “Living With Love” marriage seminar. Winifred taught all over the USA and in 18 countries worldwide. Her last time to teach was just seven weeks ago at Landis Homes.
She is survived by 5 of her children, 8 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren and her two nieces, Paulette Rice and Gayle Eimer, daughters of her sister Jackie (deceased), married to Fred Miska.
A Memorial Service will be held for Winifred on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 3pm at the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, Pa 17543. A private interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that gifts be sent to Global Training Network, #414 Winifred Green Memorial Fund, 7558 W. Thunderbird Road, Suite 1, PMB 449, Peoria, AZ 85381.

To the dear Green Family, We are praying for you at this time and for the great loss of such a godly woman. I was blessed to know your mom from my time at BCM International. She was such a blessing in my life and such a godly example. I pray that all who come behind her will follow her example of love, commitment to Christ and His Word and will share it openly and freely as she did to us. You don’t know us but your Mother was a great lady! Carl Zimmerman introduced her to us and we were very impressed with Missionary life that she and your family enjoyed. My only regret is that I didn’t get my great granchildren over to see her. I wanted them to experience the joy of her personality and missionary story. I know she is happy where she is. The only problem is we have to wait to join her.

To the Green family,
Your mother left a legacy for your family but most of all she left a legacy for our Lord. You must all be so proud of her. I know she will be missed but she’s in great hands now and you will see her again. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you and will continue to be.
