William L. “Bill” Bingeman, 82
William (Bill) L. Bingeman, 82, of Lititz, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Lititz, PA, he was the son of the late Ada and William E. Bingeman. Bill was the loving husband of Arlene K. (Fetter) Bingeman with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Bill worked as a central office technician at the Denver and Ephrata Telephone Company, retiring after 36 years in 1990. He was a member of Independent Telephone Pioneers of America and a lifelong member of Lititz Church of the Brethren. Bill was a contributing member and tour guide at Mid Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA. He enjoyed oil painting, bird watching, woodworking and his annual trips to Florida. He especially loved to watch his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s many activities and enjoyed spending time with his family. Bill also tolerated ballroom dancing with his wife.
In addition to his wife, Arlene, Bill is survived by two daughters: Carol Van Kirk, wife of Thomas, of Ephrata and Karen Shreiner, wife of James, of Manheim; a son: Scott Bingeman, husband of Cindy (Shelly), of Rothsville; six grandchildren: Katie and Jen Van Kirk, Lindsey Klingensmith, Mollie Shreiner, and Bryan and Jeff Bingeman; two great-grandchildren: Haley and Emily; a brother: Robert Bingeman, husband of Ada, of Lititz; and two sister-in-laws: Mary and Pauline Bingeman of Lititz.
William was preceded in death by two brothers: Lester and Ross Bingeman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz, PA 17543 with Pastor Bob Kettering officiating. Family and friends will be received from 10-11 AM at church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604; Mid Atlantic Air Museum, 11 Museum Drive, Reading, PA 19605 and Lititz Church of the Brethren.
