William L. Engstrom, 91

William “Bill” L. Engstrom, age 91, of Willow Street, PA., passed away on December 24, 2025, at the Glen at Willow Valley. Born in Camden, New Jersey., he was the son of the late Elmer and Phoebe (Leander) Engstrom and the devoted husband of the late Stella M. (Milligan) Engstrom.
Bill was raised in Princeton, New Jersey and graduated from Princeton High School in 1952. He attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA.
A talented sound recording expert and computer programmer, Bill developed a navigational system for jungle pilots (working with the JAARS organization) before personal computers were available, called Alive Reckoning. He also founded his own company, Reel Sound, where he dedicated himself to providing high-quality audio consulting and recording services. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him to offer services in pre-digital type set printing, reflecting his diverse skills and interests.
Throughout his life, Bill embraced a wide array of hobbies that included photography, ham radio operation, and teletype communications. He was also a licensed small aircraft pilot, showcasing his adventurous nature and love for exploration. Bill’s keen intellect and creative talents were complemented by his commitment to his faith in Jesus Christ; he attended Westerly Road Church in Princeton, New Jersey, where he demonstrated his Christian values and connection with others.
Bill is survived by his beloved daughter, Kristin Engstrom Sagers (wife of Judson) of Skillman, New Jersey as well as one sister in-law, Grace Milligan of Willow Valley.
Bill will be laid to rest beside his wife Stella, at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, at the convenience of the family.
