Wilhelmina “Willy” M. van Hekken, 92

Wilhelmina “Willy” Margaretha van Hekken, 92, of Lancaster, Pa. died April 6, 2017. Willy, the loving wife of the late Frans van Hekken, passed away peacefully at St. Anne’s Retirement Community in Lancaster, PA. She is survived by her children: son Frans, husband of Jeanne of Millersville; daughter, Karen Deatrich, wife of Earl of Pequea; and son Henk, husband of Maria of Allentown. Her 7 grandchildren: Brian, Derrick, Laurie, Lyle, Chase, Kori and Jack. And great-grandchildren: Savannah, Isabella, Dylan, Landen & Lacey and another on the way.
Willy Leenmans was born in Tulung-agung, Indonesia on May 5, 1924, where she met and married Frans. When World War II ended, they started a family and then moved to Holland. Frans and Willy moved to Lancaster, PA in 1952 where Frans worked at RCA as an engineer and Willy enjoyed her passions for helping people and cooking. She was active in many things, including aiding many with massage therapy, President of the Lancaster Women’s Club, Republican Chairwoman, Girl Scout Leader, and she loved playing bridge. After Frans retired, Willy and Frans enjoyed traveling extensively through out the world. They thoroughly enjoyed sailing the Chesapeake Bay. And most of all, Willy loved her family. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

My condolences to the family. I was a CNA of her. She was nothing but a blessing. I was blessed to be her nurse. She is loved and will be misssed. God bless the family. Love you all.
