Walter J. Bohrn, 88

Walter J. Bohrn, 88, of Millersville passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at his home. Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late John and Johanna (Deutsch) Bohrn. He was the husband of Jean (Stepanitis) Bohrn with whom he shared over 20 years of marriage.

He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and Muhlenberg College. He worked for Armstrong World Industries as a chemist for many years where he was responsible for twelve patents being developed.

Walter was a devout Catholic who cared deeply about his faith and his family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and enjoyed traveling. Walter was a diehard Philadelphia sports team fan and West Virginia University Mountaineer fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Laura Gerhart wife of Rodney Sellers of Manheim, and Dr. Michael Bohrn husband of Dr. Jaylaine of Wyomissing, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Ashley (Matthew), Chester (Kelly), Jordan, Jayden; four great-grandchildren and several other grandchildren: Zach, Danny, Katie, Andrew, Elissa, Evan, Madelyn, and Owen: three stepdaughters: Laurie Miklos wife of Jim of Lancaster, Carol Dommel wife of Brian of Lancaster and Jennifer Sotack wife of Katie of Millersville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne Bohrn and grandson, Corp. Anthony C. Bohrn.

A Prayer Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the funeral home on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Walter’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Rd, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17112 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Walt was our next door neighbor for the last 17 years. we have shared many good memories on the golf course and also keeping up our ajoining town homes over the years. 
He was always up on the latest techology and very intelligent and curious.
His Faith and Family always came first. 
He will be missed.
