Vincenzo Zito, 75
October 21, 2023
Vincenzo Zito, 75, of Lancaster passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023. Born in the summer of 1948, in Torretta, Italy, Vincenzo was the son of Calogero and Giuseppa Zito. He owned and operated numerous pizza places throughout his life, until his retirement as owner operator of Pie in the Sky in 2008. He took great pride in his craft and loved making pizza and feeding his community.
Not only was Vincenzo a skilled restaurateur, but he was also a passionate soccer enthusiast. Vincenzo’s greatest source of pride and joy, however, was his beloved grandchildren. He cherished the time spent with them. For 43 years, Vincenzo was the devoted and loving husband of Filippa Zito. Their enduring love and partnership were a true testament to the strength of their bond. Their love served as an example to all who knew them, a beacon of devotion and commitment.
Vincenzo Zito’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. However, his memory will forever be cherished. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, passion, love, and the simple joy of sharing a delicious slice of pizza with those he held dear.
Left to treasure his memory is his wife Filippa Zito, his children Calogero “Charlie” Zito, Rosalia Zito and Roberto Zito, his grandchildren Isabella, Angelo, Khali, and Adriana. Vincenzo is preceded in passing by his parents and brother Santo Zito and Salvatore Zito.
All are invited to a viewing at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg PA, October 25, 2023, from 3PM to 5PM. A funeral service to celebrate Vincenzo Zito’s life will be held on Thursday October 26, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 119 S Prince St, Lancaster, PA at 10AM, a viewing will take place one-hour prior beginning at 9AM. We are sending hugs and sympathy to all of Vinnie’s family. We regret that we can’t attend the services, but want Charlie and his mom and entire family to know we are thinking of them all.
