Viem Lieng Duong, 63
Viem Lieng Duong, 63, of 834 South Pearl Street, Lancaster, PA passed away from medical complications on October 30, 2008 at Lancaster General Hospital in the presence of his wife and children.
Born in Can Tho, Vietnam to Ha Duong and Hue Tran, he led a military career in the Republic of Vietnam and received multiple honors for his bravery in the line of duty.
Devotion, simplicity and self sacrifice best describe this great man. Mr. Duong’s only wish in life was to ensure the happiness of his family and did everything in his power to achieve this goal. He endured many hardships in life and weathered multiple attempts to find freedom and a better life for his loved ones.
This family man led a simple yet contented life. He lived for his family and wanted nothing more in life than the success of his children. He worked hard everyday and looked forward to coming back to a loving and peaceful home.
Known as a green thumb, Mr. Duong delighted in gardening. It was well known in the community that he could be found any day in the summertime on his hands and feet tending his little garden. Even more, he relished the time that he could spend with his family traveling. Having seen the world himself, he enlightened his children also. They have been world wide travelers to locations such as China, Vietnam, Canada, Bahamas, and all across the United States. He found beauty in all things and places.
He had no regrets in life and was well-loved. This dedicated family man is survived by his wife, Nga Tang, and their three children, Jenny, Long, and Phu; his son-in-law Jerry, and granddaughter Emily.
Friends and family are respectfully welcomed to attend service at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 441 N. George Street, Millersville, PA, on Monday, November 3rd, 2008 at 11 AM.
