Thelma A. Rankin, 89, passed away on May 9, 2025 at the Middletown Home.

She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Rankin, who passed away in 1996. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Lily Groff Henry.

Thelma had worked for the County of Lancaster in the Court House for 20 years, until retiring in 2000. She had also worked for 20 years for Fillings Mens Shop.

She was a 60 year member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church of Lancaster.

Thelma was a proud cabin owner for over 20 years at Central Manor Camp Meeting. She was also a member of the Conestoga Senior Group, enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family, and enjoyed participating in the activities of the “Rowdy Rankins”, a Relay For Life team.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Barbara R. Forney married to Michael of Lancaster and her granddaughter, Paige M. Forney, engaged to Antonio Colello; and by her siblings Jay Henry and Eunice Byers, both of Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Esta, Elsie, Robert, William, and Paul Henry and Edna Kemp.

Friends will be received by Thelma’s family on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 2-3PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA, with the Funeral Service to follow at 3PM. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Her family kindly requests no flowers, with contributions being made in Thelma’s memory to the Middletown Home, 999 W. Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, PA 17057.
