Terrence V. Powderly, 73

August 04, 2014

Terrence V. Powderly, 73, of Oak Lane, Lancaster, PA, passed away on August 4, 2014 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Agnes J. (Blankenmeyer) Powderly and Clement F. Powderly. Terry was the husband of Joyce S. Powderly with whom he would have celebrated 49 years of marriage this month.

He also received a Supervisory Certificate from Franklin & Marshall College and was certified for Chemical Dependency Counseling at Penn State University through the Department of Counseling Psychology.

Terry and Joyce traveled most of the United States extensively and the entire east and west coast. Their favorite vacation spot was Hilton Head, SC, which they frequented many years together. He loved anything history and political, genealogy and walking. He always had a love for sport cars.

Dear Joyce,
Your husband was my supervisor at Arrow International.  Terry was respected, yet he was kind and a buddy. He always had a humorous story that you would remember forever. His catchy little phrases like “that’s the ticket”, “oh my” and “we ohh”, were endearing to the people in his department, so much that even after he retired everyone still repeated those phrases. We were so sad when he retired, because it was never the same after that. I was at Arrow for 26 years and never remember a supervisor who was missed more then him. My sincere condolences go out to you.
Sincerely,
Vickie Lykens
