Scott Neupauer, 30

September 30, 2022

Scott Neupauer of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 30, 2022. He was 30 years old, and is survived by his wife Katherine (Kat) Neupauer.

Scott was born on December 4, 1991, as the ninth child of David and Mary Beth Neupauer. He graduated from Manheim Township High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from DeVry University. He forged a career in graphic arts, and was currently employed as a Graphic Designer with SCOPOS Hospitality.

Scott married Kat, the love of his life, on July 1st, 2017. They met playing Ultimate Frisbee, a staple of Scott’s life for over a decade. Scott delighted in the process of discovery. In his love of music, art and nature, he was an explorer – always seeking to expand his taste and experience the world in new ways.

He was an avid concert-goer, and visited most of America’s most famous National Parks. He will be remembered for a contagious smile and the pervasive sense of wonder that motivated his life.

In addition to Kat, Scott is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth, and eight siblings: David Neupauer, James Neupauer, Karen Neupauer, Lauri Shumaker, Andrew Neupauer, Ana Landis, Matthew Neupauer and Derek Neupauer. He was preceded in death by his father, David Michael, his sister, Stacey Lynn, as well as his grandparents, David and Mary Neupauer, and Bill and Antoinette Loewen.

For those who wish to pay respects, there will be a public visitation at Charles E. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on the evening of Thursday, October 6th, from 6-8 pm. To the family,
We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Scott’s passing. As his work family, we would like to share the heartfelt email that was sent to all of us from Andrey Teleguz, the owner of SCOPOS. It beautifully captures our feelings about Scott, and how much he meant to all of us.:

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that I inform you of the death of our colleague and friend Scott who passed away unexpectedly over the weekend….  We will all miss him more than words can express.

I know many of you came to know Scott and became close friends…

I want to remember Scott as a traveler, visionary with a deep depth of thought and peace he found escaping to natures wonders where you can reach and touch the sky… Maybe not everyone knows, but we interviewed Scott a while before we hired him and he was accepting the job but on one conditions as he was going on a 3 month traveling journey across US with his wife. Recently he also went on a mountain trip. I spoke with him after the trip and shared how my uncle would escape to the mountains and that’s where he would compose music/songs, wrote poems, get inspiration for architecture design, receive ideas for his novels and get new energy and enlightenment beyond this world.  Scott’s face lit up as he nodded with understanding…

Scott was key Team member and has made a number of contributions to our Branding department creating a series of brands for our clients as well as personally working with me on many of my projects and making them a reality in our sites platforms. He certainly left a footprint here at SCOPOS.

I know this is not easy for any of us to process – I learned this information last evening and still trying to register it. If you feel like you need to take a day off or work from home, totally understandable. If you feel like you need to speak to someone, please feel free to see me. I had a trip today to fly out this evening but planning to stay back and be here for everyone.

I am in conversation with family members, they will be sharing information when the memorial service will happen and I will forward that when its available.

Scott we miss you….

Dear Kat and family and the whole Neupauers family,
We are holding you in our hearts and prayers at this very painful time. We can think of no better words than those penned by poet John O’Donohue …
As you huddle around the torn silence,Each by this lonely deed exiledTo a solitary confinement of soul,May some small glow from what has been lostReturn like the kindness of candlelight.

As your eyes strain to siftThis sudden wall of darkAnd no one can say whyIn such a forsaken, secret way,This death was sent for …May one of the lovely hoursOf memory returnLike a field of easeAmong these gravelled days.
May the Angel of WisdomEnter this ruin of absenceAnd guide your mindsTo receive this bitter chaliceSo that you do not damage yourselvesBy attending only at the hungry altarOf regret and anger and guilt.
May you be given some inklingThat there could be something else at workAnd that what to you now seemsDark, destructive and forlorn,Might be a destiny that looks differentFrom inside the eternal script.
May vision be granted to youTo see this with the eyes of providence.May your loss become a sanctuaryWhere new presence will dwellTo refine and enrichThe rest of your lifeWith courage and compassion.
And may your lost loved oneEnter into the beauty of eternal tranquillity,In that place where there is no more sorrowOr separation or mourning or tears.
With love,
Nita and Karl Landis
