Salvatore Anthony “Tony” Moschella, 91

Salvatore Anthony “Tony” Moschella, age 91 of Lititz PA, formerly of Lakeland, FL passed away in his home surrounded by family on May 14, 2018.
Tony was the husband of the late Ellen (Cunningham) Moschella, who passed away on December 27, 2002. Born in Mamaroneck, NY, Salvatore was a son of the late Philip and Margaret (Rizzo) Moschella. He had 3 younger siblings, Mildred Brito of Ramsey NJ, Charles Moschella (husband of Lee) of Wanaque NJ, and was preceded in death by brother Angelo Moschella. Tony and Ellen had 3 children. Living are Tonianne Bertel (wife of Shawn) of Lititz, and Philip Moschella (husband of Louise) of Marietta, GA, and a daughter who preceded him in death, Laura Moschella. Tony had 8 grandchildren: Jacqueline, Evan, Cameron, Anthony, Quinn, George, Charlie and William. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Burnett. Also 2 granddaughters-in-law, Desiree and Allison, and a grandson-in-law, Matthew, all of whom he loved like his own. He was blessed with 4 great grandchildren, Savannah and Jackson Kretzer, and James and Maeve Bertel. He was employed as a Master Bricklayer/foreman and retired in 1989 to Florida where he was an active volunteer with his HOA. He enjoyed traveling with his spouse and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tony especially enjoyed attending most of his grandchildren’s sporting events, and any time spent by the water. He loved to lend a hand in any home projects with his son and son-in-law. He was an avid car enthusiast and appreciated perusing the local car shows. Tony was a member of BAC Local Union No.1. After moving to Lititz, he joined the Manheim Auto auction as a driver for 5 years. Tony was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and served aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt in the South Pacific Campaign.
He is a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. His ritual was to attend 9am Mass and take his family out to breakfast afterward. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 East Delp Rd. on Saturday May 19, 2018 at 11 am with Rev. Daniel Powell as Celebrant. A viewing will be held at the church from 10-11 am. Interment with full military honors will take place at a later date in Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Tony’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
