Russell “Skinny” Ernst Weidler, 92

Russell “Skinny” Ernst Weidler, 92, of Lititz, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rothsville, PA he was the son of the late Alice (Ernst) and Monroe Weidler. He was the loving husband to the late Betty Lou (Sonnen) Weidler.

Russell was a member of Brickerville United Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of The Lexington Hunting Cabin. Russell attended Manheim Township School. Prior to retirement he worked as a Machine Operator and Maintenance at Alumax Aluminum Products for over 32 years. Russell also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, walking with the Earlybird Walkers in Ephrata and was a member of the Quilting Group at church.

He is survived by his children: Gloria Hostetter (John), Russell M. Weidler (Deb) and Jeffrey L. Weidler, all of Lititz; 4 grandchildren: Stacy Eshleman, Victoria Hoak, Amy Kulus and Michael Weidler; 4 great-grandchildren: Garrick Hayden, Austin Reich, Addy Reich and Rylee Kulus. He was preceded in death by his siblings: John, George, Robert, Roy, Richard, Florence, Matilda, Mary, Naomi and Ralph.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Brickerville United Lutheran Church, 340 East 28th Division Highway, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 1PM until the time of service. Interment will be private at Memory Gardens, Ephrata.
