Russell M. Johnson, 87
Russell M. Johnson, 87, of Lancaster, died at Lancaster General Hospital on December 28, 2009. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Chester Johnson and Stella Book Johnson Gray.
He served with the US Army in the European Theatre of Operation during WWII. Russell first worked for Hamilton Watch and then was a self employed photographer.
Russell is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Lancaster, two sisters, Dorothy E. Ringgold and Evelyn H. Duncan, both of Lancaster and several nieces and nephews. His sisters Erma Puryear and Ruth Gray and brothers Wilbur Gray, Jr. and Leroy Gray preceded Russell in death.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 8th at 2 PM from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 414 E. King St., Lancaster, with The Rev. Leonard W. Christian officiating. A viewing will take place from 1-2 PM on Friday. Interment in Riverview Burial Park.
