Rosalie A. Custer, 89, of Lititz, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Cynthia Dias, in Alamogordo, NM.

Born in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Pearl Brill Heckman.

Rosalie dedicated her entire career to nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at the former Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital and later retired from Intercorp, where she served as a workers’ compensation nurse.

A longtime member of Lititz United Methodist Church, Rosalie was deeply involved in her community. She volunteered in the church’s Sunday School and at the Lititz Public Library, both of which brought her great joy. She also led water aerobics classes for fellow retired residents and enjoyed spending time on the golf course. Rosalie had a passion for travel and cherished every adventure she shared with her beloved husband, Bud.

She loved being social and had a gift for storytelling, always ready to share a memory or a laugh. A devoted reader, she could often be found with a book in hand. Rosalie especially treasured time with her family and looked forward to the annual reunions held at Lititz Springs Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd “Bud” H. Custer; her daughter, Deborah Smith of Lancaster; and her brother, J. Robert “Bob” Heckman of Willow Valley.

Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Dias, wife of Vincent, of Alamogordo, NM; and her son, Brian Custer, husband of Paula, of Exeter, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service to celebrate Rosalie’s life will be held at a later date.
