Ronald C. Usner, Jr., 57

April 21, 2016

Ronald C. Usner, Jr., 57, of Columbia, PA, formerly of Lancaster, passed away April 21, 2016 at Hershey Medical Center after a long battle with leukemia.
Born in Cape Canaveral, FL on September 29, 1958, he was the son of the late Ronald C. Sr. and Sally E. (Christ) Usner, who were from Lancaster.
He was of Christian faith.
He was a member of the class of 1976 at J. P. McCaskey High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and was stationed at Parris Island, SC from 1976-1978. He attended HACC Lancaster in 2012 and 2013.
He was a Die Hard Steelers and Phillies fan. Every Sunday when he was able, he looked forward to getting together with nephews, Shannon and Sammy, great-nephew, Dominick, and their friends to play football. He laughed at being called ”Old Man” of the team, even though he was a good player. He was excellent at playing the piano since he was young, and he loved to draw. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, and playing cards, and always looked forward to going to the mountains. He loved riding Harley cycles and was proud of his Cherokee Heritage.
He was loved, and will be truly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by a son, Dakota J. Usner of Mount Joy, whom he loved very much, sisters, Deborah L. (Usner) Homsher of Ronks and Paula L., wife of Michael Diffenderfer of Columbia, 9 nephews, 2 nieces, 7 great-nephews and 7 great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, James R. “Cuz” Usner, Sr.
There will be a get-together with luncheon in his memory for all family and friends on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 2 until 8 PM at Ross St. United Methodist Church, 312 E. Ross St., Lancaster, PA. Please R.S.V.P. to his sister, Deb at 717-847-4342.
