I met Roland and his dog Dimie at Luther Acres when my Aunt Betty Baker was in nursing cre there. Every morning Betty and I would escape her room to sit in the lounge right outside the restaurant and visit with all the folks passing by. Roland and Dimie would usually stop by after their morning walk for a cup of coffee and to read the morning paper. Roland was so kind and thoughtful to my Aunt and he would put Dimie either on my Aunt’s lap or right beside her in her chair. We had lovely chats and my Aunt always perked up to see her friends. After my Aunt’s health declined and she was confined to bed, Roland would bring Dimie to her room to visit and she would rally to pet her little friend. I will never forget how kind Roland was to my Aunt. He wa a very special gentleman.
