Robert Lee Bloom, 63

Robert Lee “Red” Bloom, 63, of Lancaster, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Violet V. Shay Bloom of Lancaster and the late Edward J. Bloom.

Red was a laborer for Consumers, Inc. for 10 years, retiring in 1996. He loved the mountains, gardening, and family picnics. He formerly attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his siblings: sister, Barbara A., married to Patrick O. Brown, Lancaster; two brothers, Edward O. Shay of Lebanon, and John E., married to Sharon Bloom, Lancaster; many nieces and nephews; a daughter, Pearl Russell of New Jersey, and five Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, on Tuesday at 11AM. Friends may be received at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Red’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O.
