Robert “Bob” L. Jennings, 62
January 11, 2014
Robert “Bob” L. Jennings, 62, of Lebanon, died suddenly Saturday, January 11, 2014.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Noble and Isabel Jennings, and was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Jennings, who was killed in the Vietnam War. This motivated Bob to become a Marine.
A brilliant man, he was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Psychology. He loved to read and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Bob played baseball and football for J.P. McCaskey High School, and was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia sports fan. He will be missed by his many friends.
He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. Prior to joining the Marines, he was a “Kal’s Angel”.
There are no surviving family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marine Corp League, Detachment 294, PO Box 227, Columbia, PA 17512.

I mostly remember Bob as Tom’s little brother. We all grew up in the Hickory Tree Heights neighborhood on South Broad St. They are reunited in peace. Sue Burk

I am so sorry Bob is gone and will miss him greatly. In recent years, his stuggles with his illnesses were great but he always cared about my life and family. He was a good friend. Though Bob has no surviving family, he will always be my brother. Our friendship will always be an important part of my life. Semper Fidelis my brother Marine.
Unfortunately, he didn’t live to see a Phillies season without TV announcer Chris Wheeler. Bob hated him. He would be proud of me for mentioning that!

I knew Bob as Tom’s little brother. I went to school w/ Tom at Washington Elem. and was at the Jennings house a few times in those days. and rember the friends in the neighbor hood like Morrie Roseman and Larry Pearson we are all classmates w/ Tom. what great times we had romping through the woods behind Edward Hand.Tom was a great guy, good at everything and I guess Bob was just like him. I was shocked to see Bob’s picture in the paper, he looked so much like Tom. and obviously admired his big bro. and surely missed him all these years since the 60’s. So even though I did not know Bob well I thought I should write a note to Honor him and Tom as well. God SPEED little bro.

So very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. (I called him Bobby) I have many fond memories of their family. We visited them quite often when I was little. His mother was friends with my mother, & she used to cut my hair. My most favorite memory is when Tom & Bob took my brother & I to Hershey Park eons ago. I was too little to drive the turnpike car myself, so I went with Bobby. Once we were off, he let me drive. I was so thrilled.
Rest in peace my friend.
Love, Tina Marks Schelling
