Robert A. Marquart, 73

Robert A. Marquart, loving father of Anthony and Laurie Marquart, 73, of 3545 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA, died peacefully on November 6, 2015, at his residence under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice.
Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the husband of the late Judith A. “Judy” Backaric Marquart who passed away on May 16, 2013, and the son of the late Jesse and Grace Tyson Marquart.
A dedicated member of Faith United Church of Christ, Bob was a former member of the Consistory at Faith UCC, Deacon, and Choir Member. Earlier in his life, he was an English dart shooter, and spent time at Leisure Lanes bowling. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting beer steins, gardening, dancing, his family’s three cats and his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, laugh, and generous spirit.
Bob retired in 1992 from Catepillar after 30 years as a Machinist. Prior to that he was a truck driver for Pepsi Cola for five years and worked at Kerr Glass for five years.
He is survived by his two children, Anthony L., husband of Sherry Marquart and Laurie A. Marquart, two grandchildren, Ryan and Alexandria and two sisters, Jessie, wife of Richard Bemis and Katherine Stoner, all of Lancaster, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Marquart, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service from Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Road, Lancaster, PA 17603, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. with The Rev. John Rieker officiating. The family will receive friends from the Church on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Bob’s memory to Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Road, Lancaster, PA 17603 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Drive, Suite 100, Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Jessie & Kitty,
I am so sorry to read of Bob’s death. The last time I saw him was at the health campus & didn’t realize it was him until long after I left. That was probably 3 years ago. How I wish I would have had the chance to say hello to him. I hope you girls are doing okay & pray for peace & comfort during this sad time in your lives.
