Richard E. “Dick” Pickell, 82, of Ephrata, PA passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Conestoga View. He was the son of the late Howard and Esther (Rodenhiser) Pickell of Lancaster, PA. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Mae, of 16 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 4 step-children, Robert C. Reed, Jr. (Tina), Dennis J. Reed (Teresa), Sharon L. Baumeister (George) and Steven W. Reed (Billie Mae). Seven step-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Nancy (Elwood) Welk of Elkton, MD and 3 nieces and one nephew.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. He served in the Army Signal Corp and was a high speed radio operator on a tug boat in Yokohama, Japan.
Dick was retired from Black & Decker. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 43 and the Lancaster Lodge of Perfection.
He loved to travel, go to dinner theatres, dancing, going to the beach, bowling and playing cards. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.
In keeping with Dick’s wishes there will be no services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
