Richard C. “Dick” Potts, 91

Richard C. “Dick” Potts, 91, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025 with his family by his side at Lancaster Nursing and Rehab after residing there for four months, after being diagnosed with dementia.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Ralph A. and Anastasia Reinfried Potts. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth A. Potts.
Dick retired from Kerr Glass after 42 years of dedicated service. He had also, for many years, served his community as an EMT in Manor Twp.
He proudly served in the United States Army 1957 to 1959 as an SP4. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and the Sweetwood Hunting Camp.
He had a deep appreciation for Western movies, especially those starring John Wayne. He was an also an avid reader. Dick loved spending time tinkering in his garage, and found enjoyment assembling and painting model cars.
Dick is survived by his five children: David, Linda McGaw (Kenneth), Douglas (Bonnie), Diane Herr (Lindsay), and Leslie Eckamn (Ed), 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Kim Weaver ( J. Brian). Dick shared a special bond with his granddaughter, Haley Bianco (Tony) and his great-grandchildren, Gianna and Luca who were also very dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by sister, Chloe, and brothers, Ralph and Robert Potts.
Friends are invited to visit with Dick’s family on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 9:30-10:30AM at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s honor to Caring Hospice of Central PA, 101 Good Drive, unit 1, Lancaster, PA 17603 caringhospice.com. His family would like to offer a special thank you to the 2nd Floor staff at Lancaster Nursing and Rehab for their care.
