Rev. Raymond F. Luber, Jr., 73
Rev. Raymond F. Luber Jr., 73, of Lancaster, passed away, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond F. Sr. and Mary (Kohn) Luber. Ray was the husband of Suzanne J. (Wilson) Luber with whom he celebrated 19 years of marriage this past June, 15th.
Ray served at several different congregations over the years, he most recent was First Congregational Church in Etna, PA. He also worked for 12 years at Western Psychiatric Institute where he was one of the pioneers in Partial Hospitalization Programs. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in New Holland. Ray was a Teacher, Writer, Editor, and an advocate for human rights.
Surviving in addition to his wife Suzy, are 2 daughters, Martha Leigh Dunbar wife of Andrew of FL, and Jenna Kay Templeton wife of Scott of Pittsburgh, PA, and 6 grandchildren; Ryan, Lindsey, Melissa, Brett, Emily, and Jeremy.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2011 at Grace United Church of Christ 1947 New Holland Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Rachel Hackenberg Officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Grace United Church of Christ “Memorial Garden Fund” 1947 New Holland Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601.
