Peggy Lou Beazley, 96
November 12, 2025
Peggy Lou Beazley, 96, of 136 Springhouse Rd., Lancaster, Pa., was reunited in heaven with her late husband, C. Henry Beazley, on November 12, 2025. Peggy was married to Henry, a WWII veteran, for 70 years. Born in Downingtown, Pa., Peggy was the daughter of the late Pauline (Keller) Himelwright and Jesse Himelwright.
A retired registered nurse, Peggy was a graduate of East Hempfield High School and the Lancaster General Hospital [LGH] school of nursing. She later received her B.S. from St. Joseph College in Maine and was a member of the LGH and St. Joseph College’s alumni association. In addition, she also earned her Pennsylvania Long Term Care Administrator’s license.
Peggy worked for many years at LGH before focusing on long term care nursing. She was the supervisor and education coordinator of nursing at Willow Valley Health Care Center for 19 years. While working at Willow Valley, Peggy was also a caregiver for several relatives until their deaths and her expertise with nursing and elder care was of great comfort to those she helped.
Faith was an important part of Peggy’s life. She regularly drove to church services into her 90’s. As a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lancaster, she taught Sunday and Bible School. Peggy helped create and worked on the committee for the Shut-In’s of the church and assisted on the transportation committee. She loved to volunteer, and over the past years performed volunteer work at Goodwill Industries and the Fulton Opera House. She enjoyed giving tours to acquaint little children with the hospital departments at the late St. Joseph Hospital.
An avid reader, Peggy also enjoyed music, playing bridge, and writing. She had many personal stories published in the Lancaster Sunday News. Several novels were also self-published including: THE PRESENCE, GOODWILL, JUSTICE FOR ALL, and GRANNY LOU.
Peggy cherished the many friendships with her caring neighbors and was able to live most of her final years in her own home with her dog, Barney, at her side.
She will be sorely missed by her three sons: David, husband of Beckie Donecker, Jeffrey D., husband of Robin Linkins, and Toby P., husband of Roxanne Doll. She is survived by a brother, Jinks Heistand, husband of Theresa Crisci, and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Luke, Tyler, Henry, Molly, and Nora.
Peggy’s family greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551. Lancaster County Nurse Honor Guard will pay tributes to Peggy at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Pennsylvania, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.

I am very sorry to hear that Peg has passed. She was a beautiful woman who had a wonderful smile. She was my parent’s neighbor. I always enjoyed seeing her on her walks with Buttons and Barney. She will be missed. Keeping your family in my prayers.
