I extend my heartfelt sympathy to all of the family and Joanne. I was shocked to hear of Paul’s passing. I met Paul several years ago through utilizing the RRTA Bus Service. It was such a pleasure to have known him. You always enjoyed the ride while he was behind the wheel. He was kind, pleasant, and went out of his way to be helpful to anyone. Then he was the “jokester”, always found a way to make you laugh. He always brightened your day. So now, my friend, I’m sure you are the new Angel in Heaven, Rest In Peace. You will not be forgotten.

Paul was a wonderful friend whom I had the privledge of knowing for 19 years. He affectionately called me “sunshine”, but he also had a way of brightening my day as well. I got to know him through RRTA. I will miss his charismatic personality, warm demeanor, and caring spirit.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Paul’s sudden passing. We grew up together, our homes right around the corner from each other. I spent countless hours with Paul and his family. He was a trustworthy, sincere person and a great friend. Paul, thank you for caring enough to find me again after so many years. I will always remember you, old friend.

Dear Pastor Paul – we are still a bit stunned by your absence but, at the same time, deeply blessed to know that you have entered into the Joy of the Lord. Many of us learned after your sudden departure that you had asked God to take you quickly and painlessly, whenever that might be – PRAYER ANSWERED. We will be working out the details with your sister for a Celebration of Life service that will make you and all of Heaven proud. We are hopeful that we’ll be able to get the details to your Amish and Mennonite contacts in hopes that many of them can join us. Rest on, dear friend and fellow servant, your works do follow you (Rev 14:13).

Pastor Paul, I was going to write this to your family, but I am going to write it to you instead. I’m trying to be spiritual and to be happy that you are in heaven with our heavenly Dad, but the heartbreak is still as strong as it was a week ago when Libby called me to tell me the news of your passing. Our founding pastor taught us that it is healthy to grieve so I will continue to let the tears flow. You were an amazing friend to me, more tender than anyone I have ever known. You were such a good listener. We had an instant connection right when I moved to Pa and started attending GGWO of York because of the many of years we were with the ministry. Apparently, we were both in Maine at the same time years ago, yet I never knew you and your wife back then. You were such a tease making fun of my small size and teasing me about being the oldest person in the church. I loved your convictions, your gift of helps to everyone. It impressed me so much on pot luck Sundays that you would prepare an entree and bring it to church. I’ve always been ‘old school’ and had to chuckle at a guy bringing food to church. Thank you for all the prayers you prayed for me and my family. Thank you for counseling me even after I moved away. Thank you for encouraging my monthly phone calls and for confiding in me and for honoring me as a Godly woman. And thank you for relaxing with me to the point that you talked more than I did sometimes. I have tons of men and women friends but none of whom I could call and share the way we shared. I shall miss you big time. Until we meet again. B.J.
