Patricia J. Nettke, 81

September 21, 2015

Patricia J. Nettke, 81, lifelong Lancaster resident, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015, at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born on Cabbage Hill to the late Frank B. and Myrtle (Daggett) Markley. Patricia and her husband Emil A. Nettke, Jr. were married 59 years last May 5th.
A graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School, Patricia retired from Community Action Program where she worked in the accounting department. She previously worked at Hamilton Watch, RCA, and Kerr Glass.
Patricia’s family will fondly remember her as a sassy, red-haired, beautiful, blue-eyed, brutally honest, strong, cancer-fighting lady. She loved her entire family and cherished their trips to Stone Harbor and Disney World. She enjoyed Westerns, especially John Wayne movies and Gunsmoke, Elvis, Penn State football games, and boating in her younger years. A member of Grace Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday school when her daughters were younger.
In addition to her husband Emil, Patricia is survived by two daughters, Tamara L., wife of Donald K. Nolt of Lancaster and Tanya L. Nettke of Auburn, CA; two granddaughters, Rhiannon N. Nolt, wife of Will Hews of Philadelphia and Gabrielle N. Nolt of Lancaster; five siblings, Peggy Moberg (Norm) of Federal Way, WA, and Judy Ames, Carol Martin, Brenda Fulginiti (Ronald), and S. Donald Markley (Deb), all of Lancaster; and her sister-in-law Shirley Brady of Lancaster. Patricia was preceded in death by three siblings, Florence Miller, Frank Markley and Janetta Deisley.
A memorial service will be held 3 pm Monday, September 28, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church, 517 N. Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17603, with Rev. Stephen P. Verkouw officiating. Patricia’s family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm on Monday at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603.

Our sincere condolences to all of Pat’s family. As time passes, may the good memories strengthen you. Although briefly knowing Pat from CAP, she was admired for her ethics in everything she did and her love of family.
Bless you all at this sad time,

Dear Family,
My sincere condolences in your loss. I had the privilage of working with Pat at CAP. She was always very up front and you knew where she stood on issues. I admired her for that. But Pat was also quick to laugh and very kind. I always enjoyed chatting with her. Her eyes twinkled when she smiled.
I have many fond memories of her and pray for the family that her memories will assist you through this time.
    Monique Simmons
