Patricia Ann Pleger, 38

Patricia Ann “Patty” Pleger, 38, of Lancaster, unexpectedly entered into rest with the Lord at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, October 12, 2008.

Born in Lancaster, Patty was the daughter of Linda M. Snyder, and Dennis C. and Blanche S. Kaiser.  She was the beloved wife of Rick Pleger.  Patty and her husband celebrated 17 years of marriage on September 28, 2008.  She was the loving and dedicated mother of Anthony, Matthew, and Jonathan Pleger.

Patty was a lifelong member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph Parochial School.  Patty was a 1988 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School.  She was a member of the LCHS marching band in the silk unit.  Patty was employed for 16 years by Lancaster General Hospital as a unit clerk on the Pediatric floor, and was recently employed by Protech Marketing as a research analyst and the sales department.

Patty was known for her joy of life, and bringing her family together with camping trips, bowling, and bingo.  A devoted mother, Patty’s life revolved around her sons; she enjoyed watching them participate in their sports.  She will be remembered for her homemade peanut butter cream eggs that will be missed by family and friends.

In addition to her parents, husband, and children, Patty is survived by her siblings, Debra Ream, Jennifer, wife of Jeff Myers, Suzanne, wife of Andy Rohrbach, Michael, husband of Shawn Weaver, Christine, wife of Michael Newcomer, and Elizabeth, wife of Bert Nye, 4 nephews, 7 nieces, 4 great nieces, and 2 great nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrant.  A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA.  There will be a Christian Prayer Service at 8 PM.  Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.  Please omit flowers.  Memorial contributions in Patty’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA 17603.  To send an online condolence, please visit www.snyderfuneralhome.com.

My Heart goes out to Anthony, Matthew, Jonathan and Rick, she will be greatly missed.
I worked and sat next to Patty for one year at Protech. She was always upbeat and such a good mom to her boys, they were her life.
I regret losing touch with her, she was a blessing to anyone who knew her.
I pray for healing and peace for the whole family, may the Lord be with all of you at this very difficult time.
I pray for strength for Rick to lead and guide his sons at this time.
We cannot question why she was taken away from her friends and loved ones, I believe the Lord has a much bigger plan for Patty,
Sincerely,
Cyndi Floyd and Family

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Pleger family.  I work with Rick at Anvil and this is a shock and a surprise to hear of this.  I wish Rick and his sons all the blessings and peace that Jesus Christ can offer.

May the Peace of God be with you Rick, Tony, Matt, and Jonathan.  I am soooo sorry to hear of your loss.  Patty was a super special lady and I will miss her so much.  I feel such a sense of shock. I can’t even imagine how hard this must be for you. Unfortunately, I just found out and see that her funeral was this morning.  I absolutely would have been there to give you all my condolences and say goodbye to her. Dear Crissy and Family,
My deepest sympathy goes out to your family and my prayer and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Your sister Patty would always say Hi to me whenever I would see her and ask how my sister Lourdes was doing; who recently past away his past February and graduated with Patty at LCHS. Crissy I just wanted to let you know that your sister was a very special person who will be deeply missed by many who knew her.
My Deepest Sympathy,

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of Patty’s family. I worked with Patty for many years on 8 North at LGH. We had many good times together. She was always smiling and cheerful and was such a hard worker. She always showed great compassion & caring to her patients and co-workers. We all loved her peanut butter eggs! She will truly be missed.

Dear Pleger Family,
My family and I would like to offer you our heartfelt condolence for the loss of your wife and mother.  There is nothing we can say to ease your pain, but please know that our prayers are with you at this time!
I did not know you very well, as my son Jon played baseball with Jonnie this fall.  I will always remember Patty as such a happy, helpful and loving mother who thought so highly of her boys!!  My heart goes out to you at such a sudden loss of a wonderful person.  May the Lord Jesus Christ carry you through this awful time.  Again, I’m so very sorry for your loss.
In Christ,
Tim, Sally & Jon Sandstrom

My prayers are with you through the time ahead.  It is a big shock to me to have this happen.

Our sincere condolences for Patty’s family.  We were shocked to learn of her passing and she will be greatly missed.  She took great care of our team.

Marjam/Philadelphia Group

We are praying for strength and God’s peace for Rick, Tony, Matt & Jonathan and the rest of Patty’s family.  It has truly been a joy to work with Patty at Protech for the past five and a half years and it has been difficult not seeing her smiling face in our office.  She was very ambitious in her work and always kept a positive attitude.  We will also miss her homemade coconut eggs and stopping in with the boys from time to time.  She talked about you guys all the time and loved you very much.  My heart goes out to all of you.

We have all been deeply saddened by the news of Patty’s passing. I worked with Patty on the pediatric floor at Lancaster General. Although we have not worked together for several years she was not forgotten. Patty was always smiling and happy. She made others around her happy and always had us laughing. The stories she told about Rick and the boys were filled with laughter and love. I often told her she should write a book about her family’s adventures! She will be missed! Rick, Anthony, Matthew and Jonathan you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Jen Myers

The boys and I are greatly saddened by Patty’s passing.
Know that our thoughts and prayers are with Rick and the boys.
Sincerely;

I wanted to send my deepest sympathy to Patty’s family.  I worked at Protech Marketing with Patty from April 2008 until the present.  I only knew Patty for a short period of time but there is not a nicer person in the world that I have ever met.  The continuous sacrifices she made for her family on daily basis is what the true meaning of "mother" should portray.  She always keep a positive attitude no matter difficulty presented itself in life.  I deeply regret the loss of Patty and am very thankful I had the opportunity to talk and collaborate with her on a daily basis at work.  Patty will deeply missed and forever remembered.  Go Phillies!!!

Please accept my deepest sympathy. Patty and I worked together in Women’s Health. She was very committed to our patients and staff. She had a great sense of humor and a laugh that made you smile to be with her.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
