Nancy Jean Gingrich
September 05, 2016
Nancy Jean Gingrich, of Leola, went home to Heaven to begin a new adventure with her beloved husband, Dennis, on Monday, September 5, 2016. Dennis has been awaiting her arrival since August 16, 2005.
Nancy was a Lancaster County native, the daughter of the late Leo and Emma Sheaffer Angelina.
Nancy was blessed to be part of a wonderful family. Survivors include her son, Christopher J. Gingrich and his fiancée Catherine Graham, Mountville; daughter Beth Ann, wife of Michael Cashwiler, Leola; grandchildren Kristen Gingrich, Windham, ME and Jason Gingrich, Mountville; sisters Margaret (Peggy), wife of David White, Lancaster, and Janet, wife of Mervin Kreider, Conestoga; in-laws Nancy and Darwin Miller, Lebanon; Gloria Gingrich, Palmyra; and many special nieces and nephews.
She graduated McCaskey High School and earned an associate’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College. In addition, she attended Lebanon Valley College. She retired from New Holland Agriculture, a division of CNH Global, and in retirement, had been a free-lance writer.
Nancy was a lifetime learner who liked reading, writing her journal, gardening, watching birds and playing with her dog, Penny. She enjoyed traveling, was especially fond of Sunday pool parties, and craved the relaxing peacefulness of the ocean.
A longtime member of the Leola United Methodist Church, Nancy appreciated a quote from Carrie ten Boom’s book, “In My Father’s House”: “When Jesus takes your hand, He keeps you tight. When Jesus leads you through life He brings you safely home.”
Friends will be received on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 at the Leola United Methodist Church, 17 W. Main St., Leola, PA 17540-1840 from 9:30-11AM, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Interment in Riverview Burial Park. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to Leola United Methodist Church at the above address.

Condolences to the Family

I was blessed to have met such a wonderful person. She always had a smile on her face, loved to talk and was just so upbeat to be around!!! I really became attached to “Aunt Nancy” at our afternoon pool times. We have lost a wonderful person but God has gained a wonderful person. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Veronica
